NUI Galway has boosted its rowing club with four new boats named in honour of alumni and current student athletes who have made significant contributions to its success.

Galway's Fiona Murtagh was back on the water this week competing in the the memorial Paolo d’Aloja international regatta in Italy.

"The last mile is never crowded and that’s the way it does feel sometimes. The difference is to be able to hold on in there, to keep it going."
